Rasmus Hojlund’s dream of playing for Manchester United will soon become a reality. First, fans must wait patiently for the young Danish striker to recover from a back injury.
How ironic is it that Manchester United have replaced Anthony Martial with an injured striker? Jokes aside, I’m happy with the signing and Erik ten Hag believes we’ve got a 20-year-old centre-forward with potential to become an elite striker.
That will do for me.
On Saturday, Hojlund was presented as a new signing at Old Trafford, and TV 2 Sport met with the Denmark international for a chat about how a move to his boyhood club materialised.
“I’ve been a United fan since I was very small, so it’s special,” Hojlund explained.
Hojlund presented a piece of paper he used to write a letter as a 10-year-old, after being tasked to write give personal goals. For the last point he wrote:
“My goal is to play for the Danish national team and for Manchester United.”
TV 2 Sport were granted permission by Hojlund to bring the letter to the public’s attention, although it was on the condition that the other four points were kept private.
Hojlund went on to add: “It’s about dreaming big and daring to dream big. Otherwise you will not reach your goals.”
We can’t wait to see Hojlund make his debut for the club, although we may have to wait until United’s trip to Arsenal on September 3.
