Manchester United are receiving data from Mason Greenwood’s ‘private’ training sessions as they prepare to make a decision on his future.
Greenwood, 21, was recently filmed training at a public complex by John Gubba (Man Utd The Religion), with the sessions overseen by a former United junior coach. His dad/agent, Andrew, was also present with Greenwood’s newborn child.
The filmmaker in question was threatened by Greenwood’s entourage.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are due to communicate their decision on Greenwood’s future after a six-month investigation before the start of the season.
United start the 2023/24 campaign at home to Wolves on Monday night.
The report also states that United have been receiving data from Greenwood’s private training sessions. That alone is a suggestion that he will be brought back, which will only cause further division in the fanbase.
Greater Manchester Police announced on February 2 that Greenwood no longer faced charges after being charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.
Furthermore, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood, but we all know that having charges dropped doesn’t make someone innocent.
In fact, Greenwood has yet to plead innocence publicly, so United’s announcement will be intriguing one way or other.
The MEN add that Erik ten Hag is reluctant to sell Greenwood and United are considering the possibility of a loan move.
Greenwood has not played for United since January 22, 2022.

“… which will only cause further division in the fanbase.”
The polls I have seen didn’t show that.
“… but we all know that having charges dropped doesn’t make someone innocent.”
Actually, innocence is presumed, so yes it does.
“… Greenwood has yet to plead innocence publicly.”
He is simply not required to do that, in any way at all.
I’ve read just about everything I can find on the Mason Greenwood situation and his possible return to Man Utd. As far as I can discern, the strongest resistance to his return is from a limited number of very vocal pundits, and there is less division in the fanbase than they would have us believe.
The decision is rightly up to Man Utd’s board and will no doubt be based on many factors, some of which are not public. I’m not saying that his return is guaranteed or even the “right” decision, but stoking bad sentiment in the press seems like poor form to me, much like when the press calls for someones sacking over some matter without due process or natural justice being permitted. On the other hand, singing his praises doesn’t seem “right” either.
In short, it’s complicated; leave it to the board.
(Standing by for Dale’s hoity put-down).
Check you out, Neo, reading just about everything you can find on the Greenwood situation yet still finding a way to defend him. Takes some doing that.
These polls you’ve seen… wonder what the demographic was 🤔 Was it Twitter? 🤣
As for innocence, yeah, I bet your mum is proud.
There’s no denying it’s a complicated situation, but you’re reluctance to comprehend the seriousness of this is baffling. His return will seriously tarnish the reputation of the club.
As for leaving it to the board, wtf are they going to find on Greenwood that the CPS and GMP couldn’t?
Not sure what background our suits have with cases of domestic abuse…
Anyway, you’ve shown your true colours. I bet your name isn’t even Neo.
You don’t disappoint, Dale. 10% fact, 90% presumption, much like some of your articles. 🙂
(PS: Follow the white rabbit.)
At least elaborate on the polls you are basing your take on and whether you be wearing your Greenwood shirt on Monday night? 🤭
You’ve outdone yourself; that’s 100% presumption.
I’d love to continue, but I have a lunch to go to. I suggest kicking back with a Guinness or two.
