Manchester United’s pre-season has come to an end after Erik ten Hag’s men played out the final game against Athletic Club earlier on Sunday.
Ten Hag named a much-changed side from the one that overturned a first-half deficit to win 3-1 against Lens just over 24 hours ago, with fringe players and youngsters playing against Athletic.
Facundo Pellistri, the Uruguay international, was one of the players hoping to impress this summer and the 21-year-old will have been happy with his output.
It looked like United were drifting towards a fourth defeat from five games in Dublin but Pellistri struck to spare United’s blushes with virtually the last kick of the game, as seen below.

United will now make the trip back to Manchester and begin preparing for the Premier League curtain-raiser in eight days when they face Wolverhampton.
It is expected that he will field a similar side to the one that played against Lens but there could yet be changes. New signing Rasmus Hojlund is not expected to be available due to injury.
