Manchester United have reportedly rejected an offer from West Ham United for Scott McTominay.

That’s according to reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who suggests that AS Roma are also actively monitoring the midfielder’s situation in case Nemanja Matic leaves in the coming weeks.

Tavolieri has not confirmed the amount of West Ham’s bid, however, the Red Devils rebutted it quickly by reiterating their £40 million asking price for McTominay.

The Irons had also seen a £20m offer for Harry Maguire rejected in July but remain interested in a double-swoop for the Red Devils duo.

McTominay’s uncertain future

McTominay, 26, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer due to the lack of game time he was granted last season; the Scotsman made just 10 Premer League starts in the 2022/2023 campaign and only six in total across the remaining three competitions.

However, Erik ten Hag is in no rush to oversee his departure, as he views the Carrington graduate as a reliable, senior figure to call upon when needed.
