Mason Mount has missed a glaring opportunity to open his Manchester United account during Saturday afternoon’s pre-season friendly at Old Trafford against RC Lens.
The former Chelsea starlet, who is making his Old Trafford debut, was named in Erik Ten Hag’s strong starting 11 to take on last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up.
However, despite being presented with a golden chance to open, not only the game’s scoring but also his personal account, United’s new number seven failed to convert Alejandro Garnacho’s pinpoint cross.
