Rasmus Hojlund was unveiled as Manchester United’s third signing of the summer earlier on Saturday when he was paraded on the Old Trafford pitch before the friendly against Lens.
The Danish international has been the subject of a long transfer saga but has finally completed his big-money switch to the Reds after emerging as one of Serie A’s hottest prospects.
Not long after Hojlund was unveiled in front of the Old Trafford faithful, it was revealed that the striker is recovering from an injury sustained during pre-season training with Atalanta.
That’s according to journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who says that although Hojlund is training, the ‘small’ injury he sustained means that he is not ready to play just yet.

As per the report, the unspecified injury will keep him from reaching full match fitness for a few weeks, potentially ruling him out of the start of United’s season.
United face Athletic Club in their final pre-season friendly of the summer on Sunday before the Premier League curtain-raiser against Wolves eight days later.
