Manchester United convinced Sheikh Jassim takeover could be completed by November

Manchester United are reportedly convinced they will get a deal done by November to sell the club to the Qataris.

A new report from The Sun claims discussions over a takeover took a big leap forward in recent weeks.

That has supposedly led to Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani’s consortium have been doing due diligence ahead of a final formal offer.

This strongly suggests Qatar has jumped ahead of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid in the race for Manchester United, with the Glazers set to make their decision on the successor.

The Glazers announced their plans to sell the club in November. That means the whole process could be wrapped up over 12 months, if a deal is complete by November this year.

Furthermore, the report adds that Erik ten Hag has been in talks with the Glazers about what the future holds for United. He has been able to add three big summer signings to the squad this summer, including Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.

This will raise further questions about Manchester United becoming a victim of sports-washing. A lot of fans on social media will tell you that they don’t care about that, and it shows, but ultimately there’s a large section of the match-going fan base that feels differently about it.

  1. I had stronger feelings about the buyer a few months ago. But I came to realise that financial parasites and general buffoons (the Glazers) are far worse than either of the major prospective buyers.

Ideally, fans would be able to chip in to buy the club and appoint their own board, but in what universe do mere fans have that kind of money?

At this level, no potential buyer will be a saint – that’s just something we’ll have to live with – and though I do still have a preference against sportswashing and state ownership, I’ll accept whatever gets the #GlazersOut.

    1. They did that once Utd fans bought the shares and when they went up sold them which ultimately ending up in the hand of investors

  2. We are tired reading unsatisfied news about this glazer’s story and mason greenwood. Sell the club or the fans open strike [no watching from the stadium or traveling away we can still watch the match from home. Glazer’s out and greenwood is back that’s what we want to read and hear.

  3. It would be great news if the deal was done before the start of the season so we can buy the best players and give Man City a run for their money #Glaziers out from a Man United fan for over 60 years.
