Fabrizio Romano casts doubt over Fred’s potential transfer to Galatasaray

Fred has been strongly linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer.

The Brazil international has undoubtedly fallen further down the midfield pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Mason Mount.

Furthermore, Fred did not travel with the first-team squad to the US for pre-season.

One of the clubs linked with a move for Fred is Turkish side Galatasaray.

Now, it looks like Fred’s proposed move to Galatasaray is off after complications during negations between the two clubs.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Galatasaray are looking elsewhere as they seek an addition for their midfield. Apparently their attentions have turned to Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele.

Romano describes Fred’s potential transfer to Galatasaray as being “on standby”, so it’s inevitable that his departure from Old Trafford will drag on another few weeks.

Maybe there’s another club in the background preparing to make an offer for Fred. Perhaps Fulham or one of the big spenders from the Saudi Pro League?
