Manchester United bidders still out of the loop in paused takeover process
Dale O'Donnell
The quest to buy Manchester United has rumbled on for almost nine months and it doesn’t sound like we are any closer to a conclusion.
There has been multiple reports around the takeover from the Glazer family to the two main bidders – Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
But with the new season set to kick off in under two weeks’ time, the uncertainty around the takeover remains.
As a result fans fear the Glazers are going nowhere.
A new report from The iPaper claims one of the two bidders are concerned that the sale process has effectively been paused.
This suggests both bidding parties are none the wiser in regards to their takeover bid.
Fan groups are expected to issue plans for protests ahead of the new season, with United starting their Premier League campaign with a Monday night clash against Wolves.
