Manchester United are open to signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the transfer window.
Fans will be very pleased with how the transfer window has gone thus far, considering Erik ten Hag is close to competing his third signing of the summer.
All three recruits — Mason Mount, Andre Onana and soon to be announced Rasmus Hojlund — are exactly the targets Ten Hag asked for when the transfer window opened.
So, even though there’s a takeover going on in the background, I think United have been productive in the transfer market.
United would significantly strengthen their depth in midfield by adding Morocco international Amrabat to the squad. He could play the role of deputy to Casemiro and he’s versatile enough to slot in when needed.
In other words, a huge improvement on Scott McTominay and Fred.
Former United striker Louis Saha has been asked about the prospect of signing Amrabat.
“Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched,” Saha told Betfred, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
“It would be exciting to see him at United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad.”
With United in the process of finalising a deal for Hojlund, we can expect the Amrabat saga to drag on a little longer.
It’s very much dependent on whether United can sell players between now and transfer deadline day.
Surely selling Fred becomes a priority?
