Erik ten Hag hails Harry Kane’s Premier League record amid Bayern Munich links

Erik ten Hag believes Harry Kane can become the best striker the Premier League has ever seen,

It is no secret that Manchester United wanted to sign Harry Kane this summer, but the club knew that doing business with Daniel Levy would be difficult.

Kane would have been the perfect option for United, but we can’t complain with the Reds on the verge of signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

With Kane’s contract set to expire next year, United played it safe and could end up signing him for free next term. Unless the England captain signs for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, as per The Mirror.

Although United decided early in the window that trying to lure Kane away from Spurs would be a difficult task, Ten Hag has still made it very clear that he is a fan of the 30-year-old striker.

“I have to respect the club and respect the players,” Ten Hag told the Guardian, praising Kane. “I have huge respect because he is a great striker. One of the best ever. Maybe he can even be the best striker in the Premier League.”

This may be Ten Hag’s way of saying stick around at Spurs for the year and we’ll sign you then.

Kane needs 47 more goals to equal Alan Shearer’s record in the Premier League of 260. He could pick up a chunk of those next season, or does he want to leave Spurs for trophies now? That’s the big question.

  1. It’s a good strategy to keep Harry Kane on good terms. It may be a long shot, but if Kane ends up being free at the end of this season, we definitely want to be in the box seat to sign him.
