Premier League manager reacts to Rasmus Hojlund’s impending arrival at Manchester United

Thomas Frank has reacted to a fellow Dane making the switch to the Premier League.

The Brentford boss will be looking to build on a remarkable season with the Bees, after which they narrowly missed out on a European spot despite numerous scintillating performances.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have finally secured their striker signing in the form of Rasmus Hojlund. It was confirmed yesterday that they would pay Atalanta an up-front fee of £64 million this summer and there are performance and success-related add-ons included in the terms of the transfer, which is yet to be completed, that could take the deal up to £72m.

He will join fellow Denmark international Christian Eriksen at Old Trafford – a player that the young forward will undoubtedly look towards for guidance given his experience.

Hojlund, 20, is now set to lead the line for the 20-time English champions and that’s a role that comes with enormous pressure as it is, never mind with a hefty price tag attached to your name too.

Frank hopes that the transfer fee won’t interfere with Hojlund’s performances on the pitch and is keen to see him succeed in England’s top flight.

“I think it’s fantastic for Rasmus,” Frank said via Manchester Evening News“I don’t know him personally, I haven’t coached him myself but of course, there’s a Danish connection.

“I know people who have coached him, he’s been with the national team and done well in the matches he played. I hope he will do very well at Manchester United, of course, it’s a big price tag and a new league.”
