Rasmus Hojlund transfer: Decisive hours for Manchester United switch

In what are believed to be decisive hours for the transfer of Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, it sounds like the Reds could have a centre-forward at long last.

Alfredo Pedulla has been on the money with Manchester United transfer news this summer because the club appears to be doing more business in Italy. It started with Andre Onana’s move from Inter Milan, but he has also been first to many updates on Hojlund who is United’s primary target now.

In a new report the Italian journalist claims there is an intention to settle negotiations by tomorrow. That suggests we could be reaching a breakthrough and it remains to be seen if Hojlund will feature in Atalanta’s pre-season friendly against Bournemouth.

Manchester United’s latest offer is €62m plus €5m in bonuses, and Pedulla adds negotiations are close but a solution may take a slight increase from our end.

Atalanta keen to get transfer over the line

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini will want to know what players he has available next season. Are they losing Hojlund or not? It’s better to know now than to find out at the end of the window when signing a replacement becomes even more difficult.

United are in the same boat because Ten Hag is in desperate need of a striker. The Dutchman needed one last season after Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated but the Glazers could only afford a striker on loan, which meant we settled for Wout Weghorst.

The less said about Weghorst the better.
