Marcel Sabitzer to make Borussia Dortmund debut vs Manchester United

Former Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is set to meet up with his team-mates from last season on the US tour with his new club Borussia Dortmund.

The Austria international left Bayern Munich for their Bundesliga rivals, after spending the second half of last term on loan at Old Trafford. Sabitzer is very complimentary of his time in Manchester and believes it helped him get his career back on track.

An injury ended his season prematurely and Sabitzer wasn’t able to do anything to convince Erik ten Hag to keep him. However, United are looking at better options in the market like Sofyan Amrabat after adding Mason Mount to the squad this summer.

Sabitzer made 18 appearances for United under Ten Hag, scoring three goals, but an injury meant it ended under a grey cloud which is a real shame. We could all see that he was a talented midfielder, versatile enough to play several – but sadly a master of none.

There is a chance Sabitzer could make his first appearance for Borussia Dortmund in the 02:00 BST kick-off on Monday, which we will be covering at Stretty News – like all of the other pre-season games this summer. You could say the 29-year-old has already had an eventful summer even without his switch to BVB. Sabitzer scored five times in 23 minutes during Bayern Munich’s amazing 27-0 friendly win over ninth-tier Rottach-Egern. Outcomes like that only happen with the best payout casino australia.

Now he’s getting the chance to train and settle with his new team-mates at Dortmund, so it would make sense for manager Edin Terzic to play him against United in Las Vegas.

After all, Sabitzer was deemed not ready for Dortmund’s 6-0 win over San Diego Loyal.

“I feel very comfortable,” Dortmund’s new no.20 told their official website. “Of course, there are a lot of new faces, which is always exciting at the beginning. I got a good feeling from everyone. The team are very nice and welcoming. The first meeting was very good and positive.

“I first thought about the possibility of a transfer myself, and then brought my family on board. After that, I gave the go-ahead and then it all went through very fast. It took no longer than perhaps 12 to 14 hours.

“It was not easy to come to Dortmund as an opponent. It’s never really fun when 75,000 people are against you but I want to attack. I want to have fun here and show what I can do in the league, as I have done before.”
