Peter Bolton’s pre-season diary: Finally arrived in Las Vegas

Thursday 27th July

Up early (again) for the 10am flight to Vegas.

I met loads of USA Reds last night and one even offered to drive me the 1-2 hour journey to the airport.

That was brilliant and very kind. He turned up at hotel door with plenty of time.

So, at the airport earlier than expected, I had time for a quick breakfast.

Next stop: Las Vegas!

A three hour flight, but two hours off the clock so we landed at 11am.

It was over 100f yesterday in Houston and probably hotter here today!

It was very hot (45c / 110f) when I arrived in Vegas.

I got a bus from near the airport to my hotel. It was like the New York ‘hop on / hop off’ bus – only far cheaper.

For those who’ve not been to Vegas, it’s certainly an eye opener.

‘New York New York’ area and all the buildings were like New York buildings (Statue of Liberty / Empire State Building etc). Then Paris Street and a massive ‘Eiffel Tower’.

I also a look around the Casino Centre – lots happening – but it’s not for me!

Decided the hotel pool would be better (even the water was warm!).

It was a beautiful evening ‘chilling by the pool’ before an early night for the first time this week.

A full ‘day of leisure’ tomorrow because why not? I have been doing between 10,000 steps and 25,000 steps each day so far this tour.

My hotel in Vegas (not my photo – I couldn’t get it all in my screen hah!).
