Manchester United and Real Madrid have been involved in many big profile transfers in the past.

To name a few: David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Casemiro.

According to Todofichajes in Spain, United could be looking to add another Madridista to Erik ten Hag’s squad, but we are unsure there will be funds to make such a transfer possible.

The report claims United are willing to pay a fixed €50m transfer fee for Madrid defender David Alaba in addition to performance-related add-ons.

Alaba could be a player we look at next summer, but I don’t see anything happen in the imminent future. We’ve still got Harry Maguire and we need to sign a centre-forward.

And, I don’t think Ten Hag has any imminent plans to replace Varane this season. He may evaluate that in 12-24 months.

Madrid beat United 2-0 in a pre-season friendly this week.
