Andre Onana made his first-ever appearance as a Red yesterday.
Manchester United took on Real Madrid in a heavyweight showdown in Houston in the early hours of Thursday morning, but given it was a pre-season clash, only bragging rights were up for grabs.
Onana started between the sticks to make his uncompetitive debut and supporters were left overtly pleased by his performance despite the fact he conceded two goals – though one of which was offside.
The Cameroon international will likely feature again when the Red Devils face Borussia Dortmund on Monday as he continues to adjust to his new squad and Erik ten Hag’s style of play.
Post-match, the manager shared his thoughts on Onana’s game, saying (via Football Daily): “I think good, solid. Two very good saves so he was there in the moment the team needed him. He did his job and he has integrated well in our team.”
