Peter Bolton’s pre-season diary: Frustrating offside goal vs Real Madrid in Houston

Wednesday 26th: Match Day

Another early morning flight. This time it’s United Airways from San Diego to Houston.

A few Reds are on this flight, some club officials and some press that are following United.

I think it’s the only flight from San Diego to Houston that gets there in time for the match. It was a two and a half hour flight, but two hours were added on the clock so it’ll be after 1pm by the time we land.

I got invited to another ‘Fans meeting’ before the match which is being organised by Houston Reds. Wes Brown & ‘Stretford Paddock’ for a Q&A with a live audience.

Yet again, Wes was brilliant. He signed autographs and took selfies for everyone who wanted them.

Furthermore, the match was quite good. I enjoyed it expected for the SHOCKING offside for Real Madrid’s first goal.

I thought United played quite well, just struggled to score.

My hotel was a few hundred yards from the stadium, so I was soon in bed and fast asleep after the game to prepare for another early flight at 10am to Vegas. That means a 7am lift to the airport.

At least I’ve got four nights in Vegas, so less of this ‘one night in each place’ malarky.

I’m really looking forward to Vegas as I’ve never been before!
