Manchester United eye Turkey international as second goalkeeper signing

Manchester United are looking to sign another goalkeeper to provide backup to Andre Onana.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils have set their sights on Fenerbache’s Altay Bayindir.

The board have reportedly held talks over his potential arrival as they consider ‘keeper options on a tight budget. Bayindir is expected to cost around £5 million, however, he is mulling over where he may be granted the most game time, with Ajax also interested in acquiring his services.

United have just forked out £43m for Onana, who succeeds David de Gea between the sticks at Old Trafford after the Spaniard’s 12-year stay.

As well as that, the club are locked in talks with Nottingham Forest over Dean Henderson’s expected switch, and Luton Town are targeting veteran Tom Heaton, who has featured for United in their pre-season games.

Bayindir, 25, is expected to leave the Turkish club as they have already started scouting his replacements.
