Manchester United have made it three wins from three in this summer’s pre-season campaign as Erik ten Hag’s men extend their winning streak ahead of the new season.

Bruno Fernandes made his first appearance for the Reds as full-time captain and the Portuguese international did not disappoint, scoring the opening goal as he helped guide his side to another win.

Fernandes’ strike was quickly followed by Jadon Sancho’s opportunist goal after Arsenal defender Gabriel made a mess out of controlling a ball.

United cruised to a 2-0 victory over the 90 minutes and enjoyed further success when the two sides faced off in a penalty shootout, with United scoring all five of their spot-kicks.

Man United Player Ratings

Tom Heaton – 7
Played the entire 90 minutes and made some good stops.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7
Pre-season isn’t always a reliable indicator of what the manager is thinking but it is looking increasingly likely that he will start the season as Ten Hag’s first-choice right-back.

Raphael Varane – 8
Made one great block to stop Arsenal from bundling the ball in. It’s paramount that he says injury free this season.

Lisandro Martinez – 8
Slowly but surely, he’s getting back up to speed after a serious injury.

Luke Shaw – 7
Struggled with Saka at times but did well overall.

Kobbie Mainoo – 8
Continues to dominate and does not look out of place at all.

Mason Mount – 7
It looks like Ten Hag is planning to use him in a slightly deeper role and you can’t fault his output so far.

Antony – 7
Spurned a golden chance to send United into the lead in the seventh minute but important to get another 45 minutes under his belt.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7
Huge season ahead for the young Argentine.

Bruno Fernandes – 8
Back in the side and a captain’s goal to boot.

Jadon Sancho – 8
Stunning pace and control to capitalise on Arsenal’s mistake and the finish was as good as they come.

Substitutes
Diogo Dalot – 7
Almost set up Rashford for a third goal. Scored his penalty.

Victor Lindelof – 7
Comes into the new season high on Ten Hag’s pecking order. Scores his penalty.

Harry Maguire – 6
Looked shaky.

Brandon Williams – 6
Hard to see a future for the defender at United but Tyrell Malacia’s injury could change that.

Casemiro – 7
Back with a bang. Scored his penalty.

Christian Eriksen – 7
Big second season coming for him following Mount’s arrival. Scored the winning penalty in emphatic fashion.

Scott McTominay – 7
Got the job done.

Amad Diallo – N/A
Only lasted 15 minutes, unfortunately.

Marcus Rashford – 6
Will be disappointed not to have scored after Dalot’s fine cross.

Omari Forson – 7
A surprise regular fixture in the side this summer.

Facundo Pellistri – N/A
Replaced Diallo with roughly 30 minutes to go.
