Alex Telles is closing in on a transfer from Manchester United to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

The Brazil international spent last season on loan at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League, but he is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag already has three left-back options that would warrant selection over Telles. They include Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Alvaro Fernandez. I’m sure some Reds would argue that they’d prefer to start Brandon Williams, too.

According to the Manchester Evening News, figures at United expect Telles to complete a permanent move to Al Nassr for around £6 million.

However, earlier this week suggested Al Nassr would pay less than £6m for Telles’ signature.

On Thursday there were fears that a deal had collapsed, but now it seems to be back on track.

It has been three years since Telles joined United from FC Porto in a deal worth £13.8 million. Since then, he has made 50 appearances for the club.

Telles, 30, is expected to link up with former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
