United readying Rasmus Hojlund bid as PSG negotiate with player’s agents

Manchester United are readying their opening proposal for Rasmus Hojlund.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils face competition from French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who have held talks with Hojlund’s entourage.

United want to avoid a potential hijack from the reigning Ligue 1 giants, so are looking to send over their first bid soon.

The young striker has already agreed terms with the Reds and is keen to make the switch to the Premier League, however, the board are unwilling to meet Atalanta’s high valuation of €65-70 million in a cash-only deal – they are uninterested in taking any of United’s cast-offs in a play swap.

United must avoid bidding war

That means that if it comes down purely to a bidding war, PSG may have the upper hand. The state-owned Parisians have already enjoyed a busy transfer window so far and with Kylian Mbappe’s future uncertain, Neymar injury-prone and Lionel Messi gone, a 20-year-old striker like Hojlund could quickly become a prime target.
