Donny van de Beek breaks silence on uncertain Manchester United future

Donny van de Beek admits he could leave Manchester United this summer.

The Netherlands midfielder explains that everything is still open after finishing a long recovery process. Van de Beek could move on or stay to fight for his place at United.

In his first appearance after returning from knee injury, Van de Beek scored a volley after just four minutes on the pitch. United went on to beat Lyon 1-0 at Murrayfield in Edinburgh.

Van de Beek told reporters after the match that it’s possible he could make an exit from Old Trafford this summer.

“For now, it’s hard to say where my future is. I’ve come back now after injury and I’m fit now, so I play my first minutes after training for a few weeks, so I try to push as hard as possible,” Van de Beek said, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“Every day [something] can happen, so it’s hard to say now where my future will be. In football you never know, especially with me, so let’s see what happens.”

When asked if he could remain at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old said it was a possibility.

Van de Beek added: “Yeah, but it’s also a possibility that I move, so everything is open. It’s hard to say now where my future is.

“I’m focusing on getting as fit as possible and pushing on.”

Hopefully, with a number of strong performances on tour, clubs around Europe decide to make offers for Van de Beek because he is a player we could afford to move on.

Even better if his sale contributes to increasing funds in Ten Hag’s transfer kitty.
