Andre Onana left Inter Milan’s training centre on Tuesday morning to begin his travels to England to sign for Manchester United.

The two clubs have finally reached an agreement, but personal terms were never considered a problem. Erik ten Hag will be signing his first choice goalkeeper to replace David de Gea.

Sky Italia claims Onana made the trip to the UK from Turin airport on Tuesday.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (H/t Sport Witness), the 27-year-old will undergo medical examinations in the next few hours before completing his transfer to United.

Furthermore, the Italian publication has managed to interview Onana ahead of his impending arrival at Old Trafford.

They asked him about leaving Inter and Onana stated he’s excited to work under Ten Hag again following their time together at Ajax.

“Now I really want to start this new experience, exciting and with a coach who for me is a master,” Onana said.

“I will go to a great league and a great club, which has a huge history just like that of Inter: I will start from scratch and give everything every day to show the new fans who I am.”

Onana admits he is sad to leaving Milan after just one year, but he is excited about the challenge that awaits him in the Premier League.

“The important thing is to be honest and always tell people the truth. I am a person who always wants new challenges. Playing in the Premier League and for a club like United is irresistible,” Onana added.

“All parties wanted this to happen. But what matters is that if I had stayed, I would have been happy because I never had any problems at Inter.”

After losing the Champions League final against Man City last season, Onana has quickly set an objective for his time at United. He wants that European cup!

“Pride and sadness. You don’t know how much I would have loved to bring the trophy to Milan, celebrate it with our people,” Onana continued.

“We were close to touching it, we deserved it: we played against City head-on, only details were missing, but this is football… Personally, I hope to win the Champions League with United, but I also hope that Inter replay a final and win it.”

United are expected the announce the signing of Onana today or tomorrow.
