Manchester United have reached an agreement with Marcus Rashford to extend his contract.

The news was confirmed this morning by David Ornstein, who reports that the forward is set to sign a five-year extension ahead of his current deal expiring next summer.

He adds that Rashford rejected ‘lucrative proposals’ from clubs across England and Europe to stay with his boyhood side in hopes of lifting major trophies.

Wythenshawe-born Rasford has been a Red since he was eight years old and his new terms would see him remain at Old Trafford until after his 30th birthday.

Rashford’s scintillating form earns new deal

The England international is on the back of his best season to date, having overseen a 30-goal campaign for the first time in his career. He was United’s top goalscorer and was named Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year when the term concluded.

He will be looking to build on his prolific form after the summer and now with added incentive, as he knows his future is secure in M16.
