Manchester United reject offer for forward as they look to loan him to European club

Manchester United have reportedly rejected a loan offer for Facundo Pellistri.

According to journalist Joao Batista Filho, the Red Devils rebutted a proposal from Gremio.

The Brazilian Serie A side wanted to acquire Pellistri on a season-long loan, in which they would pay 60 per cent of his wages, however, it was turned down as Erik ten Hag is keen for the 21-year-old to gain vital experience at a European club.

Should he excel during his time away, he may then be granted chances to earn a place in the senior starting squad, though if the opposite happens, he could be sold permanently.

FC Twente are currently interested in the Uruguayan and are more likely to sign him in this transfer window, while reports also suggest that Real Betis have set their sights on Pellistri.

Despite signing three years ago, Pellistri made his debut on January 10 of this year. He went on to make a further nine appearances in all competitions under Ten Hag, being used sparingly by the manager, but supporters were left excited at the prospect of his development.
