Nottingham Forest join Everton in pursuit of 21-year-old Manchester United attacker

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga, as per Charlotte Duncker of The Times.

The Midlands club have seemingly joined Everton in pursuit of the Carrington graduate, with the Toffees submitting a £15-20 million bid today.

Elanga, 21, has not featured for the Red Devils since April 20 when he made a three-minute cameo as the club bowed out of Europe in a defeat to Sevilla.

He has made just four starts in the past 57 matches and last made an appearance in the Premier League during the closing stages of United’s notorious 7-0 thrashing to Liverpool back in March.

The Sweden international has scored four goals since making his senior debut in May 2021.

Everton reignite Elanga pursuit

United blocked a deadline-day move for Elanga in the January transfer window; he was closing in on a move to Everton but the Reds pulled out at the 11th hour and opted to keep him at Old Trafford.

Given that Erik ten Hag is open to sanctioning the exit of the attacker, it’s up to Forest and Everton to put their money on the table and see which side wants Elanga more.

Steve Cooper is also actively working on a permanent deal for Dean Henderson after having him on loan at the City Ground last season, though United are are open to keeping him and making him their new No.1 if they fail to sign Andre Onana.
