Scott McTominay has revealed when the whole Manchester United squad will check back for pre-season training.

While Manchester United beat Leeds 2-0 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, Erik ten Hag was without a number of senior players who have yet to return to Carrington for training.

McTominay has confirmed that he and the rest of the United squad will report back on Saturday.

A lot of those players will be expecting their first game next Wednesday, when United take on Lyon at Murrayfield in Scotland.

McTominay was out enjoying a round of golf at the Genesis Scottish Open when Sky Sports asked him when he was due to return for pre-season training.

“On Saturday,” McTominay replied, as per the Manchester Evening News. “So we’re all back in and then we’ve got a lot of games coming up so it’ll be good.”

There has been a lot of speculation over McTominay’s future in recent months. He doesn’t have a starting role under Erik ten Hag and everything will depend on whether he is happy playing a bit-part role at Old Trafford.
