Manchester United are growing in confidence when it comes to completing a deal to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The club is aiming to get a deal across the line before the US tour – to allow Onana implement his approach from the back before the team begins training in the States.

Onana, 27, played under Erik ten Hag for three years at Ajax and the Dutchman now wants to bring him to Old Trafford as David de Gea’s replacement.

United are believed to have had an initial bid of around £38m pushed back by Inter, who want approximately £51m for the Cameroonian.

According to the BBC (as per The Metro), United are confident of reaching a compromise in the next few days and it would be ‘staggering’ if Onana was not a United player before United travel to the US.

Onana looks set to become United’s second signing of the summer – following Mason Mount after his move from Chelsea.

It’s an exciting addition that Louis Saha thinks will result in more goals for United. Hopefully not too many against!
