Manchester United launch on Snapchat ahead of pre-season tour

If you use Snapchat, you can now follow Manchester United on the social media network.

It will be one of the best ways to keep track of what Manchester United are doing on tour this summer, with the first team flying to Norway for their initial pre-season friendly against Leeds.

The profile @manutd is now live and it will be fully flowing with content by the time United take to the United States for the main section of the pre-season tour. This will give fans a new way to follow and experience the club.

Snapchat boasts over 750 million users around the world and it opens United up to an entirely new market.

Club media via ManUtd.com promises to provide highlights from men and women’s teams, behind-the-scenes content including match preparation, clips from training and fan-generated content.

Ian Nolan, chief content officer at United said: “Snapchat is a hugely popular global platform that will further add to the numerous ways the club engages on social media with our millions of fans around the world.

“We are excited to launch today as the team prepares for our pre-season tour of the United States and look forward to sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content with fans, as well as introducing them to the innovative features of the Snapchat platform.

“We want to reward our most loyal fans for their passionate support and, through the Snapchat lenses feature, we will be looking out for the most creative fan-generated content.”
