Manchester United meet supporters’ demands with safe-standing seating extension

Manchester United will add a further 2,100 seats in ‘safe-standing’ areas of Old Trafford for the 2023/2024 campaign.
The new railing seats will be in the adjoining section of the Stretford End in the south-west quadrant, where the fan-led Red Army group make their voices heard throughout each and every home game.
Since last January, the club have been integrating rail seats across the stadium after being named one of five stadiums in England chosen to trial the concept. There are currently 1,500 in the north-east quadrant and an added 2,500 for away supporters.
When the new season kicks off, there will be over 6,000 in total.
United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14 for their opening fixture of the 2023/2024 campaign.
Erik ten Hag’s side tasted defeat just once on home turf in the league last term, so the manager will be hoping to make it one less this time around and aim for a perfect record in M16.
