Ideally, Erik ten Hag would sign two new forwards but that doesn’t sound likely for Manchester United this summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag has a preference to sign another attacker as United hold discussions over Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

It is understood Ten Hag wants an out-and-out striker as well as a forward who can play across the front three amid doubts over the futures of a number of United attackers.

Someone like Joao Felix?

A report from The Independent suggested that Ten Hag could look to sell four players this summer, including Jadon Sancho.

Hojlund, 20, is United’s primary target with the club giving up hope of signing Tottenham captain Harry Kane. The MEN claims Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani is regarded as an alternative and attainable option to Hojlund by the club.

Furthermore, united are prepared to sell winger Anthony Elanga for £10 million and would listen to offers for Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek.

Samuel Luckhurst reports: “Ten Hag identified Cody Gap as an ideal multi-functional forward but United passed on the Netherlands winger midway through last season as the owners, the Glazer family, denied transfer funds.”

That was when Ten Hag had to settle for Wout Weghorst on loan.
