Mason Mount completed his £55m plus £5m in add-ons transfer to Manchester United on Wednesday morning and his new teammates have already been sending him messages of support via social media.
There will still be a lot of players away on holiday, with one a selection of the squad expected to return to training tomorrow at Carrington.
Mount will be among those. The former Chelsea midfielder, who spent 18-years at Stamford Bridge, will be keen to familiarise himself in his new surroundings ahead of the new season.
Following this morning’s confirmation of the deal, Harry Maguire was quick to share a supportive message for his England teammate.
Bruno Fernandes had a more humorous message for the new signing. The Portugal international shared images of the pair in a disagreement during a game in 2020/21 and captioned the post: “Why did you take so long to join,” with an angry face emoji, and then added “welcome”.
