Inter Milan expect initial bid from United for Andre Onana this week

Manchester United will try at the very least to sign Andre Onana, but Inter Milan’s valuation could prove to be a stumbling block.

According to Sky in Italy, Inter Milan are anticipating a first initial offer from Manchester United for Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana this week.

Reports last night suggested Onana had rejected interest from Saudi Arabia to pursue a move to Old Trafford.

With Erik ten Hag working under a restricted transfer budget due to Glazernomics, United need to consider alternative targets within their budget.

But the signs are that Ten Hag is interested in linking up with Onana again after the pair worked together at Ajax.

Onana was fantastic during Inter’s run to this year’s Champions League final and he impressed against Man City, despite the result.

With United set to announce the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea, an immediate bid for Onana could potentially see Ten Hag given two top targets ahead of pre-season and I think that would please the manager.

Sky Sports News adds that United are resuming talks with David de Gea over a new contract, which doesn’t make sense if they are hoping to make process over a deal with Inter for Onana.

De Gea’s contract expired on Friday last week at midnight but the 32-year-old is now being linked with a potential move to Turkey.
