Erik ten Hag has set his sights on Andre Onana and is adamant about overseeing his arrival in the coming weeks.

Manchester United are yet to submit a bid for the goalkeeper despite frequent speculation that an offer is on the way. Inter Milan are also expecting a formal approach from the Red Devils, with their CEO recently confirming their interest.

The club have also been heavily linked with Feyenoord ‘keeper Justin Bijlow, who has recently featured for the Netherlands national team, but Ten Hag is keen on a reunion with Onana, whom he coached at Ajax.

According to a report from Alfredo Pedulla, the United board had suggested Bijlow and as a cheaper alternative but the Dutch manager wants Onana for the impact he will have “from a technical point of view”.

Inter set Onana asking price

United’s pursuit of the Cameroonian has become more difficult due to the fee that the Serie A club will demand; they want around €60 million plus add-ons to sanction his exit this summer – just one year on from his arrival at the San Siro.

With the Reds recently agreeing a £60m deal for Mason Mount and a striker signing the priority, funds could quickly become tight for Ten Hag.
