Manchester United have officially failed in their pursuit of Kim Min-jae.
The Red Devils were linked with Min-jae for several weeks before Bayern Munich entered the race – and they quickly took the lead.
It was a matter of days before reports suggested that the reigning Bundesliga champions had beaten United to the signing, with Fabrizio Romano now confirming that there is a complete agreement in place between Min-jae and Bayern.
He will sign a five-year deal upon his arrival and the German club will pay Napoli his release clause when it can be activated on July 1.
United eyeing centre-back signing
Now, United must continue scouring the market for a suitable alternative. It’s been no secret that Erik ten Hag wants to bolster his defence but lately speculation has circulated on a new midfielder, striker and goalkeeper.
The club also need to sanction numerous outgoings in the coming weeks to allow breathing room when it comes to negotiating potential deals.
