Man United fans spot one player’s shirt unavailable to buy with speculation growing over number change

Manchester United fans have spotted that Alejandro Garnacho’s shirt is currently unavailable to buy in the latest kit launch.

The Red Devils released their brand new home strip for the 2023/2024 campaign this morning, which pays homage to the city with its all-over geometric pattern depicting the Lancashire red rose.

As always, it’s available to purchase online and in the megastore, though you cannot currently buy the new shirt with Garnacho’s name and number on it.

The 18-year-old has donned No.49 in his breakout campaign but is seemingly going to be awarded a new number for the forthcoming season.

Garnacho likely to be next No.7

Speculation largely suggests, as first reported by MEN, that he will become the new No.7 – following in the footsteps of legends such as Eric Cantona, George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Supporters had expected Jadon Sancho to be Ronaldo’s successor with the iconic jersey, but it appears as though United are giving the young Argentine big boots to fill. It may make him even more eager to succeed at Old Trafford, as he looks to build on a scintillating term in M16.
