The 25-year-old sustained a metatarsal fracture back in April during a Europa League clash with Sevilla at Old Trafford.
He was stretchered off the pitch and it was confirmed following the game that he would miss the remainder of the campaign, which came as a huge blow for United, as Martinez was a standout performer throughout his first season in England.
Since the injury, fans were already looking forward to his return and now finally, there’s an end in sight.
Martinez’s likely return to Carrington
The World Cup winner will be back in Red at the start of the tour, with the first fixture scheduled for July 12.
Players that have returned from injuries or were not involved in the final international break are likely to meet at Carrington in early July.
