Manchester United have reportedly turned down the chance to bid for Christian Pulisic.

According to The Metro, the Reds were offered the chance to sign the Chelsea winger but they turned down the approach.

The USA international made it clear in a recent interview that he is looking to find a new club this summer, but we now know that won’t be United.

However, French publication L’Equipe (as cited by The Metro) claim Lyon are leading the race to sign Pulisic.

“It’s absolutely a time where I need to figure out what’s going to be best for my future and be somewhere where I can go and play and be trusted and feel good in what I’m doing,” Pulisic told ESPN.

“I want to find that joy at club level again, for sure.”

It wouldn’t make sense for United to express an interest in Pulisic, who only showed a bit of promise in his first season at Chelsea. Since then he has been a disappointing signing from Borussia Dortmund – and we’ve had our share of those as well.

Chelsea are eager to trim their bloated squad this summer and they’re proving difficult in negotiations to sign Mason Mount, who should be the only player on United’s target list from Stamford Bridge.
