Former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker has hit out at the club, making wild accusations that we’ve contributed to the ruination of English football.

Football in England, like much of Europe, has evolved over the last 20 years or so with transfer fees, wages and signing on fees. There is a lot more money in the game, with clubs generating far more from the existing broadcasting deals.

The Premier League is now seen as a playground for the biggest stars, on the biggest wages, and that is why everyone wants to come to England.

Parker, who played for United between 1991 and 1996, believes United have contributed to the way football has changed in England – but we’re hardly alone. Man City are the worst offenders nowadays and all in the name of sportswashing to make it even worse.

“There was a time, many years ago, when players signed for Manchester United because it was Manchester United,” Parker told bettingexpert, as cited by the Manchester Evening News. “Today players are signing for United because of… Yeah, God knows how many million they can earn.

“That’s why United are also guilty when it comes to ruining football in this country. They are not the only guilty club but they are not innocent.

“The Premier League has become a circus division because it’s all about money. This circus division is slowly killing our game and the circus division has taken anything good away from our football.”
