Manchester United have launched a third and final £55 million bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
The Chelsea midfielder has supposedly made his intentions clear to Chelsea – that he will not agree new terms at Stamford Bridge and he wants to join Manchester United.
Mount, 24, has a year remaining on his current deal.
United’s second bid – rejected earlier this week – was worth £45m plus a further £5m in performance-related add-ons. The third offer is understood to be worth up to £55m.
However, Chelsea are believed to be coveting £60m up front with a further £7m in add-ons.
United will be keen to avoid a long drawn-out saga.
Here’s what United fans have been saying about the latest offer on Twitter:
Why are we playing this game? We all know how it goes, we fumble about with lower bids for 4 or 5 weeks before giving them exactly what they want. If they turn this bid down I hope…No,no we need to walk away.

Our last bid was 17m less than they wanted and we’ve increased our bid with 5m. I can see that getting rejected as well.

Chelsea won’t accept that imo. We don’t get deals done fast. We might pretend we’re out and return next month with a 65 mil bid that they will probably accept.

Decision time. Accept it or risk losing him for FREE next season! 😂👍
