Manchester United supportive of Mason Greenwood’s private training sessions

Manchester United are understood to be supportive of Mason Greenwood training privately.

Pictures published by The Sun on Friday showed Mason Greenwood training at a public sports centre.

It was the first time Greenwood had been seen on a pitch since his arrest last year.

According to The Telegraph, Manchester United are supportive of Greenwood training in such a capacity to keep himself physically and mentally healthy.

This ‘supportive’ line gives a strong suggestion that they are plotting a way to brief his return, but the report stresses a decision has not yet been made.

The Telegraph also add that a decision on Greenwood’s future is not linked to the possible takeover.

United launched an internal investigation into Greenwood’s case – which involved him being arrested in January 2022 after a woman made allegations of physical and sexual abuse on social media.

He was charged in October last year but the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew the case on February 2 after Greenwood’s alleged victim and witnesses refused to co-operate. That is when the club launched its own investigation.

It’s important to note that having charges dropped doesn’t make someone innocent.
