Manchester United monitor New England Revolution goalkeeper

Manchester United are believed to be in the market for a new goalkeeper.

It remains to be seen if David de Gea will be at the club next season, with the Spaniard yet to agree terms over a contract extension at United.

On another note, United fans are expecting to see Dean Henderson depart the club on a permanent basis, so there might be a need for two new goalkeepers.

It sounds like Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is the primary target if David de Gea leaves, but the Manchester Evening News claims United are also monitoring MLS shot-stopper Djordje Petrovic.

The report suggests United are interested in the New England Revolution keeper but have not yet made contact.

Petrovic, 23, is under contract until 2025 with a one-year option. That means New England Revolution won’t be under any pressure to sell him this summer.

He joined New England Revolution as a replacement for Matt Turner, who joined Arsenal last year, and has quickly attracted the attention of United and other clubs in the Premier League.

Petrovic could be a back-up option next season but only time will tell if Erik ten Hag will have the funding to sign two new keepers.
