Manchester United table third bid worth up to £55m for Mason Mount

Manchester United have made their third bid for Mason Mount after having the first two offers rejected.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have tabled a proposal in the region of £55 million for the England international; £50m plus £5m in add-ons.

Chelsea would need to budge on their valuation to accept the bid, as they are hoping to receive closer to £70 million for their academy graduate.

Given that Mount has just one year remaining on his deal, United are unwilling to fulfil the Blues’ price tag and are instead looking to meet in the middle for an amount that works for all parties.

Mount keen on United move

Mount, 24, has already agreed personal terms with the 20-time champions and is keen to make the switch from Blue to Red this summer, having been at Stamford Bridge since he was six years old.

The London club are willing to comply with Mount’s desires and sanction his exit in the coming weeks.
