Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is losing pertinence with the potential sale of the club.
The Bulgarian has warned the Glazer family that they risk upsetting Erik ten Hag, who did a very good job in his first season as United manager.
Ten Hag is planning ahead for next season without clarity around the ownership situation.
Speaking to Betfred, Berbatov said (via Manchester Evening News): “The takeover needs to happen soon because then you have the security and the funds to buy players you need.
“Now is the time for Manchester United to go and challenge and if the takeover affects Erik ten Hag’s summer transfer plans, then of course he’s going to be angry as the club needs to be powerful in the transfer market to compete with Manchester City.
“Hopefully the takeover can happen soon so Erik can be given the funds to buy the players he needs.”
