Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Gambia U20 forward Adama Bojang.
The 19-year-old currently plays for Steve Biko FC in the Gambia, and is available for about £3m.
According to the Guardian, Manchester United and Newcastle are the latest Premier League clubs to show an interest in Bojang – but there’s a number of Bundesliga outfits already in the race for his signature.
The youngster drew more attention to himself after starring in his country’s recent run to the knockout phase of the U20 World Cup in Argentina.
It is believed that he has already attracted interest from Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Liverpool and Wolves.
The report states that Steve Biko FC received an offer from an unnamed German club this week, with RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt closely linked with the forward.
Ed Aarons reports: “He [Bojang] is believed to favour a move to the Bundesliga but it remains to be seen whether that would change if an English club make a move.”
Surely a move to the Premier League – more specifically Manchester United – would be more appealing than a stint in Germany.
On another note, Bojang and other players will look at the Bundesliga as a good league to build a name for yourself. We’ve seen Jadon Sancho do that as well as Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund.
