Manchester United are seemingly preparing to make a change in the goalkeeping department as David de Gea’s future at the club continues to be uncertain.

The Spaniard has less than two weeks remaining on his current contract and as things stand, it is not looking like he will be extending his stay beyond this summer.

De Gea has been in talks with the club over a new deal for months but reports linking United to other goalkeepers are intensifying with each passing day.

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has been linked with a transfer and he recently addressed the rumours, admitting a move may be out of his control due to his club’s high asking price.

Now, England and Everton star Jordan Pickford is being paired with a switch and according to reports, United are readying a significant offer to sign him.

That’s according to the Daily Star, who say that the Old Trafford club are preparing a massive £45m bid to sign Pickford, with Everton said to be in need of a cash injection.

As per the report, Pickford sits at the top of Ten Hag’s list of candidates to replace De Gea this summer as the 32-year-old continues to run his contract down.

It’s claimed that Ten Hag views Pickford as the best replacement due to his shot-stopping and distribution – the latter is an area De Gea has come under heavy criticism for this season.

Everton survived a scary final few weeks of the season as they managed to beat the drop in the relegation race but that has done little to aid their financial situation.
