Teenage goalkeeper trains with Manchester United first team ahead of FA Cup final

Manchester United youngster Radek Vitek has gained key experience with the first team and the coaching staff this year. Now could be a good time to go out on loan to prove himself.

The season may be over for the academy, but the 19-year-old goalkeeper is still training with the first team ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Stood at 6ft 4”, Vitek is a presence but he has yet to make his debut under Erik ten Hag, who has been keeping close tabs on the Czech Republic goalkeeper.

Tom Heaton has returned to training and Jack Butland remains available, despite being in talks over a permanent move to Rangers.

Vitek made the bench for the first team in a Europa League clash against Seville earlier this season.

It’s unlikely that he will make the bench in the final at the weekend, but he can still learn plenty from being around the first team and staff at Carrington.

David de Gea will be starting between the posts in what could be his final game for the club. It remains to be seen if he will sign a new deal at the club and potentially remain as a backup option, should Ten Hag decide to add a new keeper to his squad this summer.

Ten Hag could simply want another keeper to stand in on the sessions for multiple reasons.

His best moment yet for the club was starting in the FA Youth Cup final win last year, along with Alejandro Garnacho.

Maybe the club will look to loan Vitek out next season?
