Manchester United transfer appeals to Neymar this summer

The idea of Neymar joining Manchester United may not make sense, but it’s been reported that the Brazilian international is keen to move to Old Trafford.

L’Equipe claimed last week that Manchester United were already in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for Neymar.

However, we were quick to rubbish those claims. United are hardly in a position where they are in advanced talks to sign the world’s most expensive player. Not to mention he still has four years left on his current deal at PSG.

According to The Sun, Neymar wants to join Manchester United this summer and he’s refusing to leave PSG for any other club.

The Brazilian joins a long list of players that will be looking to join the biggest club in the world this summer since we’re back in the big time (Champions League).

However, when it comes to me at least, the feeling is not mutual when Neymar is the topic of conversation. That is the sort of signing Ed Woodward would spend an entire summer chasing.

Foot Mercato suggest Neymar accepts he has no future in Paris after being turned on by the PSG ultras, which is a key reason why we should urge caution with any apparent interest.

Neymar is also 31-year-old and it would take a hefty transfer fee to price him away from the Ligue 1 state-owned giants.

The Brazil star cost £192m when he joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017. He has since scored 118 goals and won five Ligue 1 titles.
