Manchester United star has over 12 clubs lining up for his signature this summer

Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga reportedly has over 12 clubs interested in signing him this summer.

That’s according to a transfer round-up from Daily Mail, which adds that the Sweden international is keen on pursuing a new challenge.

Elanga has seen his game time drastically reduced under Erik ten Hag due to the arrival of Antony and the form of Marcus Rashford. When one of the duo drops to the bench, Jadon Sancho fills the void on either flank.

Consequently, the 21-year-old has made just seven starts in all competitions this term and a further 19 appearances as a substitute, scoring no goals and assisting two across the season.

With Ten Hag now adamant about bolstering his squad for the forthcoming campaign, there’s a chance that Elanga could fall even further down the pecking order.

Elanga could push for move due to game time

He was linked with an Old Trafford exit in the past two transfer windows but ultimately, a deal failed to materialise. Now that he’s tasted nine months of frequently warming the bench, he may put pressure on the club to oversee his departure.

Another plausible option would be a loan move. Elanga is a Carrington graduate who progressed straight from the academy to the first-team, so proving himself in another club’s first team may make Ten Hag rethink his stance on letting the attacker go.
